England Karate Kan (Association) held the first of two brown belt courses this weekend designed to provide specialist training and grading preparation for the Association’s 3rd to 1st kyus. Around 30 brown belts attending, the course proved to be a success. With the next brown belt grading scheduled for July, many were in attendance to work on their techniques and develop their knowledge.

Sunday 17th May 2009: England Karate Kan hosted the first ever English Open Karate Championships on 17th May, which saw 500 entries of the 385 competitors from over 30 Associations battling on the mats to gain the first ever EOKC Titles. EKK were overwhelmed by the support of the Associations present, and a packed venue reflected the popularity of the event. |

Although Sensei Enzo was prepared for a quiet grading, over sixty England Karate Kan students attended the Association’s April grading. Sensei Enzo was impressed with the standard of the grading and the commitment of the students from various branches of the Association.

Many England Karate Kan (Association) students undertook difficult gradings this weekend to secure their next belts. Facing a strict panel, the junior students did especially well to maintain focus and concentration throughout the grading.
The grading began with a revision course provided by Sensei’s Howard, Paul, Dan, Michael and Claire. Allowing time to refine techniques as well as stretch and warm up, the students present benefitted from the help and advice of the higher grades. |
