The Yudansha (black belt) class had the privilege of a course on Friday, held by the Chief Referee of the EKF, Dale Gamble. The course provided an overview on the rules and regulations of sport karate and proved both popular and useful for the senior instructors, competitors, coaches and Association referees.

Following the usual squad sessions on Saturday, a three-hour intensive kata course was held at the Coombe Dojo on Sunday. With Sensei’s  Paul, Dan, Michael, Claire and Philippe, and trainee instructors Tasha, Charlotte, Jaye and Nathan on hand, all those in attendance worked hard and practiced for the upcoming grading.

Sensei  reports, ‘Yet another busy weekend for the Association, this time not just for the sport side but also for the senior grades too. As an ever growing Association, I am pleased to see all the karate-kas involved - they respective role of learning new things, if is a new kata, new fighting technique.. the rules for referees introduce another avenue to the more senior grades if they wish to take and also to increase the knowledge in karate.

Thanks goes to Dale Gamble, the Chief Referee of the EKF, to take the time and accept my invitation to do a course with us, and the instructors for helping at the kata course on Sunday'.

Thank you .
