World Ranking tables generated from the newly formed Karate1 Premier League, by the WKF have listed our very own students Natasha Nussbaum, Domonic Wyness & Philippe Clairett.

Their overall ranking is as follows.

141/172 = Natasha Nussbaum

249/274 = Philippe Clairet

72/274 = Domonic Wyness

In their individual dicipline (Individual Kata Seniors)

23/46  = Natasha Nussbaum (Kata individual female seniors)

11/44 = Domonic Wyness (Kata individual male seniors)

25/44 = Philippe Clairet (Kata individual male seniors)

Karate1 Ranking system

Competitors can earn ranking points in every Karate1 WKF Premier League event

• Ranking starts over with the first event of a Premier League season
• New ranking lists are issued after each event
• The competitors with the highest score in each category at the end of a Premier League season receives the title of Grand Winner
• Grand Winners receive extra prize money
• Grand Winners have to participate in more than 80% of all Karate1 events
• Points received in Karate1 events will be added to the overall WKF RANKING which ranks all athletes who compete in Continental Karate Championships and in WKF Championships

All Karate1 PL event competitors receive ranking points as follows:
Every competitor of each WPL event initially receives………...………….. .1 pt
For every single round won the winner of each match gets………………..10 pts
(Matches won without competing (e.g. byes) do not result in any ranking points).

The top ranked competitors in each category receive bonus points related to their results:
1st place - 100 pts
2nd place - 80 pts
3rd place - 60 pts
5th place - 40 pts
7th place - 20 pts
2 quarter finalists not participating in repechage - 10 pts

e.g.:
64 competitors:
winner gets 161 pts (6 matches won + 100 pts bonus)
2nd gets 131 pts (5 matches won + 80 pts bonus)
7th gets 51 pts (3 matches won + 20 pts bonus)
two rounds won = 21 pts

Points for results:
1st place: - 100 points
2nd place: - 80 points
3rd place: - 60 points
5th place: - 40 points
7th place: - 20 points
quarter finalists not in repechage: - 10 points
10 points for each round won (including repechage)
1 point for participation
